About the Teacher
This section is only provided due to the necessity of taking from qualified teachers whom one trusts. We learn from the texts of the famous teachers of Tajweed that they used to introduce themselves and their teachers in the muqaddimah (preface) of their texts. With the intention of following their blessed way, this introduction will be provided.
The name of the teacher will be concealed until you are accepted onto the course inshaa ALlah, again for modesty purposes inshaa Allah.
This slave of Allah was favoured by Allah Ta'alaa to start studying Tajweed in the year 2010, later that year by Allah's grace she also commenced studies in other Islamic Sciences and has been studying continiously since then. She studied Tajweed online with Qibla and Seekers Guidance. Her teachers of Tajweed included Ustadhah Sumayya Van Den Branden, Shaykh Sulayman Van Ael (theory), Ustadhah Sawsan Mustafa and Mufti Muhammad Umer Esmail (rahimahuAllah). A basic ijazah was granted in the hifz and recitation of Juz 'Amma by Ustadhah Sawsan in the riwayah of Hafs 'an Asim in December 2011, henceforth Mufti Muhammad Umer (rahimahuAllah), with whom she read a few ajzaa', also gave her verbal ijazah (permission) to teach Tajweed, the juz 'amma and Tuhfatul Atfaal (a basic text on Tajweed). She has also studied the Jazariyyah and Khaaqaaniyyah with Shaykh Uthman Khan.
In the year 2019, she completed a khatmah of the Qur'an to her teacher Ustadha Hind Salim (Egypt) in the riwayah of Hafs 'an 'Aasim, with three ajzaa from memory, receiving a formal ijazah by the mercy of Allah. In 2020, she studied and read the Jazariyyah from memory to her teacher Ustaadhah Z.Ahmad, receiving ijazah in the matn as a result. Alongside Tajweed studies, She has also completed a part time traditional alimiyyah programme at a local institute with local scholars, graduating in 2019. In 2022, Allah Ta'alaa blessed her with the beautiful gift of memorisation of the complete noble Qur'an.
Currently, she is focusing on Qur'anic revision and furthering her studies in the Islamic sciences.
It is with this trust of her teachers that she has been teaching sisters and children since 2010. A great portion of her teaching has been online and hence by the grace of Allah she has gained extensive experience in teaching Tajweed online effectively and aiding students who otherwise could not access other means. In front of the classical teachers of Tajweed, this slave would never be capable of teaching as she did not memorise the whole Qur'an at the time of the khatmah and received ijazah as form of certification to teach. However, this basic ijazah is taken as a dharoorah (necessity) in these days of limited proficiency in Tajweed amongst the masses, especially sisters. She also places great emphasis on spirituality and ihsaan amongst her teaching following the way of her teachers.
