Level 1- Basic Tajweed Course (For Sisters)

By the grace of Allah Ta'alaa, I have finished a major project recording a full course of Tajweed theory for beginners. I felt it to be necessary due to a few considerations:

• The priority of a student is always to read the Qur'an Al Kareem in a manner that is both approved by and pleasing to Allah Ta'alaa. As such, sessions with teachers need to involve constant recitation.
• Rules and theory can become quite distracting for a student and might turn their focus away from Qur'an practise.
• The beginner does not require academic knowledge of Tajweed. Only an expert reader can be afforded the privilege of indulging in Tajweed academics as they may one day teach if Allah wills.

Features of this Course:

• A fully structured course, al hamdu liLlah, involving 5 modules.
• Lesson clips via exclusive youtube videos- inshaa Allah providing ease of use. Questions maybe asked via commenting on videos or emailing in.
• Fully prepared quizzes for many lessons (with general answers if needed) and final quizzes that can be sent for marking after completion.
• A resources folder where you may find extra links to useful videos, books etc. These can help you to consolidate lesson material.
• Inshaa Allah, students are entitled to 5 live sessions a year to ask any pertinent questions or clear doubts. These will be in December, February, April, June, August and October inshaa Allah (on a Saturday most likely- details to be shared closer to the time inshaa Allah).
• Remember, this is not a recitation course and such one should find a personal teacher to practise the theory that is learnt.

Who is this Suitable For?

• A student of the Noble Qur'an who wants to revise the theory or gain more insight.
• Someone who wants to study theory before initiating with a personal teacher for recitation.
• Someone who has trouble finding a teacher and wants to try and practise what they can from recordings of theory first.
• Lastly, of course, any sister who has general interest.

Shaykh Ayman As Suwaid made a nice statement once in his book "Tajweed is a written illustration of the Prophetic Speech" 

So this is a profound science which is not just based on words but an amazing feat of love to describe the Qur'anic recitation to a meticulously great degree. 

May Allah make this project a source of immense reward for our beloved teachers, those who continue to live amongst our midst. For my dear and early teacher, Mufti 'Umer (rahimahuAllah) may it be continuous sadaqah jaariyah. Ameen.

• As this is a serious project and we need serious students, there is a small nominal fee that is required for this course.
